Danielle Therese Barbuti

Danielle Therese Barbuti, 49, of Scranton, was a victim of a violent crime, passing away in her home on November 29. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Marie V. Barbuti and the late Joseph F. Barbuti.

She was a graduate of Scranton High School. She continued her education graduating from Wilkes University with double majors in Mathematics and Computer Science. She spent the last 14 years enjoying her career as a nanny.

She had many eclectic interests. Her free spirit guided her to the study of astrology, spending time in nature, using her self-made hula hoops, pottery, crocheting many homemade pieces for friends and family, and enjoying a variety of arts and crafts.

She was an avid support of the arts. Her creativity was overwhelmingly original. She could be found attending many music or art related local events. Her Instagram displayed a variety of sacred geometry with the use of the program OmniGeometry. The creator of the software often showcased Danielle’s extremely talented designs. She sang and danced as if no one was watching even though everyone was. She was also musically gifted, being self-taught on the guitar and violin. Later, she played the conga drums with her brother and sister-in-law on their church worship team. Her selflessness allowed her to drop everything to help anyone.

She led a vegetarian lifestyle in her cooking and loved to experiment with big, bold flavors that fused different cultural dishes together resulting in delicious creations.

She is survived by her only and beloved son Jordan Ashman; mother, Marie V. Barbuti; her brother, Joseph F. Barbuti and Melissa; sister, Leandra Barbuti-Ayala and husband Laurentino; and many nieces and nephews.
