David Hammon

David Hammon, 66, of Dupont passed away June 10, 2021, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.

He was born in Pittston, the son of the late Harold and Anna Hammon.


David graduated from Pittston Area High School and worked at Pride Manufacturing before retiring.


David was member and a Deacon at the Wyoming Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church, Hudson, PA.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, George Hammon. Surviving are his brother Thomas Hammon, Dupont, PA; sisters Suzanne Podejko, (David) Norwalk, CT; Beverly Hammon, Dupont, PA; Annette Stamper (Gregory), Akron, OH; niece Michelle Jones, (Matthew), nephew Michael Stamper (Ashanty), Bryan Stamper, and Brad Stamper, great nephews Gabriel Stamper and Marshall Jones.


David was a quiet, gentle soul who enjoyed gardening, woodworking, cooking, and baking. He volunteered his time to help people, no matter what was needed.


In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Wyoming Valley SDA Church, “Building Fund”, 14 Martin Street, Hudson, PA 18705.


Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021, at 12:00pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Pastor M. Moses Andrade of the Wyoming Valley SDA Church officiating. Friends may call on Monday morning from 11:00am until time of service. Interment will be held at St. Michael’s Byzantine Cemetery, Pittston.
