Deloris “Dee” Simeone, 84, of Duryea, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Born on July 16, 1940 in Sutton, Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Richard Dennison, Sr. and Pearl Dennison.
Dee graduated from East High School, class of 1957 in Akron, Ohio, and pursued her passion for beauty and self-expression by becoming a certified make-up artist. Her early career took her across the United States as a magazine saleswoman, showcasing her adventurous spirit and vibrant personality. She later became a cherished member of the community, working with Merle Norman Cosmetics in the Pittston Plaza, where her kindness and talent left a lasting impression on many. Dee also dedicated many years of service to Techneglas, Inc.and later retired from Moses Taylor Hospital.
Dee’s life was a tapestry woven with resilience, grace, and a love for her family. She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Richard and Pearl Dennison, her brother Richard Dennison, Jr., and her former husband, Vincent Simeone.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in her daughters, Dina Finan of Pittston and Gina Gilroy and her husband Jason of Avoca, and her grandchildren, Christopher and Jaiden. She is also survived by her sisters, Orita Erhard and Jo Fern, both of Akron, Ohio, along with many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dee’s life at a memorial service on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 6:30 PM at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine Street, Duryea, with Fr. Joseph Pisaneschi officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 4 PM until the time of remembrance.
Dee’s warmth and light touched all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
