Dionisios Vervitsiotis, 79, of Scranton, PA, passed away at home on June 10, 2026.

Born December 21, 1946, in Corfu, Greece, to the late Spiridon and Eleni (Bounia) Vervitsiotis, he served in the Hellenic Navy, later making his home in Scranton. He worked various jobs including at the Aegean Restaurant in West Scranton, and Cleveland Tankers/Ashland Oil in Milwaukee, WI.

He is survived by his son Dionisios, and wife Christine, and granddaughter Eleni, of Alderwood Manor, WA; sisters Amalia and Theodora, Greece; nieces and nephews in Greece and abroad.

A funeral will be held Thursday, June 25, at 12:00 PM at St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 205 North Main Street, Pittston, PA. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
