Dolores Barbara Lampman, 83, of Avoca, fell asleep in the arms of Our Lord, on Monday, January 6th, 2025, at Allied Services Hospice, Wilkes-Barre. The daughter of the late Walter and Stella Pahucki Janicki, Dolores graduated from Duryea High School and worked at Luce Luggage, where she met her future husband, John Lampman. John and Dolores celebrated 61 years of marriage on October 26th, 2024.
Dolores’ true calling was as a wife and mother. She truly loved making a loving home for her family and waiting on the porch for her children to come home from school to freshly baked cookies and dinner in the oven. After raising her children, she devoted herself to caring for her mother until her passing. She was the best cook, the best baker and truly the best mom and gram. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, shopping for bargains, and traveling on cruises with Johnny. An active member of SS Peter and Paul Parish, Avoca and its Alter and Rosary Society, she was currently a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, Duryea.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by a son, Christopher, in 1967 and her only sister, Phyllis Moniak, in 2018.
Dolores is survived by her devoted husband, John; her children Cheryl Nowak, Exeter, Eileen (Chris) Monroe Twp., and Michael, Avoca; and her grandchildren, who she loved beyond measure, Stephanie and Marissa Nowak and Jacob and Joshua Lampman.
We are forever grateful to the providers who gave our wife and mother additional years with us, including Geisinger Cardiology (especially Kim Hart) and Renal Associates.
We can never thank Allied Hospice, Wilkes-Barre enough for not only caring for our mom, but for caring for all of us this past week.
In lieu of flowers, please send any memorial contributions to Allied Services Foundation, 100 Abington Executive Park, Clarks-Summit, PA 18411.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, January 9th 2025, at 11:00am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea, with Fr. Michael Bryant officiating. My memories of Dolores start was young and naived enough to think staying up past 8 p.m. was a wild time. Every New Year's Eve, the Lampmans and Kologes would take turns hosting a much anticipated party. The Snow storms would not cancel it as we lived a whole 2-minute walk away .
The party would kick off around 8 p.m.,We'd fuel up on appetizers like chips and dips, shrimp cocktail, and whatever other snacks we could find. While the moms and dads enjoyed their adult beverages, some of the kids (ok, me..but i wasn't the only one )got to enjoy the thrill of sneaking maraschino cherries out of the grown-ups' cocktails. And of course, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin'…
