Dolores Kuna Klimek Potorski

Dolores Kuna Klimek Potorski, 89, of Dupont passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at The Gardens at East Mountain, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Dupont on July 22, 1933, and was the daughter of the late William and Constance Porzucek Kuna.

Dolores was very devoted to her faith. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont, where she devoted her time volunteering for many church events and was a faithful member of the Christian Mothers and alter and rosary society of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She attended Dupont schools and retired from the local garment industry.


Dolores enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends. She loved her polish heritage and living in the borough of Dupont. She enjoyed her home, especially spending time on her front porch during all seasons, conversing for hours with family, close friends, and neighbors. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, John Klimek, and her second spouse, Albert Potorski. She is also preceded by her sisters Theresa and Maryann Kuna, Irene Truskowski and Eleanor Bryk and brothers Edward, William, and Chester Kuna.


Dolores is survived by her son Joseph Klimek and his wife Michele, of Dupont; grandchildren Shawn and his wife Paula Klimek and Shane Klimek; her sister Bernadine Bryk, of Dupont; sisters-in-law Florence Kuna, Gloria Kuna, and Barbara Kuna; brothers-in-law Sam Valenti and Walter Bryk; and several nieces and nephews.


A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 9:30am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont, with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Tuesday, March 28, from 5pm-8pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.


Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church on Wednesday morning for the mass. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery.
