Dolores M. Piechota

Dolores M. Piechota, 84, of Dupont passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022, at The Gardens at East Mountain Nursing Center. She was born in Duryea on March 23, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Francis “Perk” Wudarski and Frances (Evans) Wudarski.

Dolores was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. She was a graduate of Duryea High School and worked in the local garment industry


Dolores will always be remembered for her motherly instinct and drive. She was an exceptional caregiver to her six children and others around her felt nurtured and supported when in her presence. She was a seamstress who loved gardening, sewing, and she excelled in cooking. She was known for her grilled cheese sandwiches, which nourished the hearts and bellies of many. She lived and loved wholeheartedly and will be missed by those who received the gift of her kindness and care.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Henry Piechota, Jr., who died in 1993, her son Frank Piechota, her brother Joseph “Woody” Wudarski, and her sister Helen Strunk.


She is survived by her daughters, Anne Barnes and husband Scott, Susan Piechota, Marie Kane and her

husband Bill, sons Henry Piechota III and wife Joyce, and Eric Piechota and wife Lorraine. Also surviving are brothers Frank Wudarski and his wife Cathy, of Dupont and Thomas Wudarski and his wife Rosalie, of NJ; sister Ann Chapman, of Pittston; 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, her fur baby Pumpkin, and many nieces and nephews.


Friends may call for viewing on Monday evening, November 14 from 4pm to 7pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Funeral blessing services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Dupont.
