Donna M. (Gromala) Bartosiewicz, 59, of Avoca, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Dupont, March 21, 1962, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (Zuba) Gromala.
Donna was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. She was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, class of 1980 and was a graduate of Luzerne County Community College with a degree in Medical Transcription. She worked for many years as a medical transcriptionist for NPW Hospital, Geisinger Hospital, John Heinz Institute, and Northeastern Rehabilitation Associates.
Donna was always all smiles and cheerful throughout her life; no matter what obstacles she faced in life; she was committed to overcome it. The world will truly be a darker place without her light. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and John Gromala; her brother-in-law John Sweeney; and her sister-in-law Joanne Gromala.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert Bartosiewicz and her sisters, Kathy Sweeney, of Norristown and Mary Walsh and her husband David, of Duryea. Also surviving are her sister-in-law Gayle Gromala and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren. Donna will also be deeply missed by
her pet cat Cali.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021, at 9:30am from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call on Thursday evening, November 11, 2021, from 5-8pm and from 8:30am until time service on Friday. Interment services will be held at a later date at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca.
