Edward Kreczkevich, 83, of Avoca, passed on Tuesday, September 7th at the Regional Hospital, Scranton. He was born in Dupont, May 22, 1938, and was the son of the late Walter and Helen (Hobra) Kreczkevich.
Edward was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. He attended Dupont Schools. After graduation, he joined the US Army and served from 1959-1962 in Korea.
Edward retired after 45 years employment from Fitchburg Inc/ Mac Tac, Moosic.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Walter and Victor Kreczkevich.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia (Wanat) Kreczkevich; his daughters, Cathy and her husband Richard Marich of Exeter and Debbie Kreczkevich, of Avoca; his brother John and his wife Sue, of Philadelphia; grandchildren Ryan, Evan, and Aidan Marich; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 1st at 9:30am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Interment will be held the parish cemetery. The AMVETS Honor Guard of Greater Pittston will provide military honors.
