Elaine Blazosek, 77, of Avoca, Pennsylvania passed on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, PA.

She is survived by her husband, Attorney Joseph M. Blazosek, sons, Michael Blazosek and his wife, Lori Blazosek, Suscon, David Blazosek, Dupont, Joseph Blazosek and his fiancé, Carisa Wruble, Duryea, Jason Blazosek and his significant other, Melody DeGaetano, Scotch Plains, New Jersey, Attorney Christopher Blazosek, and his wife, Dr. Shannon O'Malley, North Brandford, Connecticut, and grandchildren, Kathleen Blazosek, Grayson Blazosek, Landon Blazosek, Nolan Blazosek, Blake Blazosek, and Caius Blazosek, and sister, Laura Joyce, and brothers, Howard Doran, and James Doran, and his companion, Patricia Wilk, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose (Sam) Doran and June Dommermuth Doran, daughter Kathleen Blazosek, brother Paul Doran, and in-laws, Joseph Blazosek and Julia Blazosek, and brother-in-law, Michael Joyce, and sister-in-law, Cheryl Dructor.

Elaine was a graduate of Northeast High School, Wilkes Barre Business Institute and Wilkes Barre Area School of Practical Nursing. In addition, to raising her family, she was an L.P.N. who first worked at Wilkes Barre General Hospital as an orthopedic nurse, followed by multiple hospital assignments, and then geriatric nursing at Wesley Village and several other nursing care facilities in the Wyoming Valley.

She was also a licensed EMT, and an officer for the Avoca Ambulance Association, a volunteer mom at St. Mary's School in Avoca, the Avoca Dupont Little League, the Pittston Township Little League and a devoted cat and dog supporter.

For Elaine, her sons, grandchildren and other family members and friends meant everything to her. It was a natural outgrowth of her personality to want to help people, as well as animals. She assisted in many rescue agencies and freely gave of her time and energy to help those in need.

Elaine had a special place in her heart for stray dogs and cats, tirelessly advocating for their rescue and adoption. A firm believer in the “Adopt, Don't Shop" philosophy, she found immense joy in giving abandoned animals a loving forever home and inspired many others to do the same. In addition to her support for the teams and activities her sons pursued, She was also a devoted Philadelphia Phillies baseball and Penn State University football fan who cheered her teams  with immense passion and unwavering loyalty through every season.

Elaine was a woman of faith, family, and at times, strong opinions, but her intentions and heart were always in the right place.

Elaine's family extends their heartfelt thank you to Doreen Epps, who was a caregiver and companion through a difficult time in her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Township, Pennsylvania, 18411, or Whiskers World, Inc. 100 William Street, Pittston, Pennsylvania, 18640, or similar organization of your choice.

Friends and Family are asked to go directly to the Church; there will be no procession from the funeral home.

A private viewing will be held on April 12, 2026, at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea, PA.

Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.
