Eldin “Al” Shields, III, 58, of Exeter, passed away unexpectedly, at his place of employment. He was born in Pittston, July 5th, 1966, and was the son of Carol (Smith) Crich and the late Eldin George Shields, Jr.
Al was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, class of 1985. He worked for many local businesses over the years and was currently employed as a union stagehand for the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza and the FM Kirby Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Al was an avid outdoorsman that excelled at kayaking. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending his time with his loving family and his friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his mother Carol, he is survived by his children, Nicole Shields of Kingston, Matthew Shields of Kingston, and his granddaughter Bailey Murray. Also surviving is his sister Bonnie Shields, of Exeter; stepbrothers, Charlie Crich and his wife Betty, of Pittston and John Crich and his wife Jennifer of Pittston; his stepsister, Evelyn Hogan and her husband Joshua, of Mtn. Top, and his niece Erica Heckman, of Texas.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Charlie Crich.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 2nd at 7:30pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Rev. Bill Bachman of the United Methodist Church of Pittston, officiating. Friends may call on Monday evening from 5pm until time of the services.
