Elena Belgio (also known as Nona) 89, of Hughestown passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 6th, 2024, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. She was born April 18, 1935, in Tripoli, Libya to the late Carmelo and Teresa Caraffa Inclimona.
In addition to her parents and her late husband Carmelo P. Belgio Jr., a United States Air Force Veteran, she is preceded in death by her sisters Maria, Gilda, and her brother Franco.
She is survived by her children Patrica Fino and husband Mark B. Fino of Dallas, Katherine Belgio Sands of Hughestown and her son Louis Belgio and Flo Kuhar of Harding. Also surviving are her grandchildren Nina and Elena Dominick, great-grandchild Adalina Dominick, and her brother Romano Inclimona of Catania Sicily.
Private funeral services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, followed by interment services at St. Rocco’s Cemetery, Pittston.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
