Emmanuel John (Manny) Ziobro, 84, of Dupont entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore PA.
Born in Dupont, he was the son of the late George and Frances Lukasik Ziobro. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, the former Dorothy Milewski; children Joseph Ziobro and his wife Beth, James Ziobro and his wife Sheryl, and Judy Ziobro Martin; as well as grandson, James Ziobro, and his wife Jessica, grandson Matthew Martin, and great-grandson Bennett Ziobro. Also surviving are his sister Alicia Wisnosky and her husband Joseph, of Florida, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Manny was a life long member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Dupont. He was a very active member in his parish throughout his life. He served in various positions within the Holy Name Society, served as chairman of the Centennial Committee, was treasurer of the Senior Outreach Committee, and was a dedicated usher until his health prevented him from performing the required duties. He was also active within the Dupont junior bowlers and helped with their annual junior bowlers banquet.
He attended Pittston Central Catholic High School, and was a graduate of Wilkes College with a Bachelor of Science degree in commerce and finance. He furthered his education and graduated from Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.
He was a state bank examiner for the Pennsylvania Department of Banking for 13 years. He joined United Penn Bank in 1973 and served as a vice president until United Penn become Mellon Bank. He worked at Fidelity Deposit and Discount Bank after he left Mellon Bank and was there until he retired.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn and her husband Chet Truskowski, Martha and her husband, Frank Monkosky, and nephew, Stephen Truskowski.
Manny’s greatest accomplishment was his family. He was a very proud father and even prouder grandfather. He could always be counted on to be in the stands at all of his grandsons sporting events.
Manny’s family would like to thank Dr. Mauer Biscotti, the nurses and staff at the Jewish Home, Scranton and the staff at Hospice of The Sacred Heart, Dunmore for their excellent care and compassion.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023, at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Church, 217 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call on Sunday evening April 23, 2023, from 5-8pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church for the mass. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery.
