Frances Ann Daczka, 87, of Avoca, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at the Green Ridge Health Care Center, Scranton. She was born in Dupont on October 20, 1933 and was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Kopec) Chrobak.
Frances was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont and was a former member of SS Peter and Paul Church, Avoca until its closing. She was a graduate of Avoca High School and a graduate of Mercy Heights School of Nursing, Scranton. She retired as a visiting nurse after many years of employment.
Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Walter “Wally” Chrobak.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles Daczka and her children Charles and his wife Cindy, of Dover, PA, David and his wife Julie, of Madison Twp., Mark and his wife Lisa, of Pittston Twp., and her daughter, Mary Beth Daczka, of Avoca. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Aniell and husband Ofir Tomer, Liana and husband Nick Owad, Rachell Daczka, Kyle Daczka and his wife Kate, Amanda Smerdon and her husband Mark and Tyler and Aiden Daczka; her great-grandchildren Kaylee and Zoe Smerdon and Talia Tomer; her sisters Mary Orlock and her husband John, of Avoca and Rosann Kumor, of Shillington, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 9:30 from Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call on Thursday morning, April 1st from 8:30am until time of mass. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Dupont. If attending visitation or the mass, please be mindful that masks and safe social distancing are mandatory at all times.
