Frank S. Ulanowski, 87, of Hackettstown, NJ, passed away on December 25, 2025, at The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. He was born in Dupont, PA, and was the son of the late Frank and Sophie (Gill) Ulanowski.

Frank leaves behind his children Donna (Paul) Demczak and Patricia Heinbaugh, both of Pennsylvania, John (Lynda) Ulanowski of New Jersey, Frank (Sanna) Ulanowski of Florida, and James (Leslie) Ulanowski of New Jersey; and his grandchildren Mark Heinbaugh, Elizabeth, Nicole, and Jacob Demczak, and Jillian and Jim Ulanowski.

 

He was predeceased by his sister Lottie Sarnoski and his ex-wife and close friend Jo Ann Ulanowski.

 

Frank graduated from Dupont High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1955. Following his deployment to Korea, Frank was discharged in 1958. He then completed a tool and dye apprentice program in NJ. Frank loved his work and after a long career as a machinist he retired from Astrodyne TDI.

 

Frank enjoyed spending time with his family, including many Fourth of July celebrations, as well as other family gatherings in Florida and in the Poconos. He will be dearly missed.

 

The Ulanowski family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at both the Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon Township and The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Hackettstown for their excellent care provided and the kindness and compassion shown throughout his illness.

 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine Street in Duryea, PA with Fr. Zbigniew Dawid officiating. Military Honors will be provided by AMVETS Honor Guard of Greater Pittston at 10:45 AM. Interment will be at Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Cemetery in Dupont, PA.
