Gerald A. Benner, 61, of Duryea, PA passed away peacefully on the morning of April 3, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Paterson, NJ on September 12, 1959 and was the beloved son of the late Gerald I. and Jessie (Benner) Aumick of Milford, PA.
Gerald graduated from Garfield High School in Garfield, NJ. He went on to work close to 30 years of his life as a truck driver and the last 10 years self-employed, but his greatest accomplishment was being a devoted family man. He truly was the rock of the family!
Gerald was a funny, sarcastic jokester who deep down was just a "Toys R Us" kid at heart. He was an extremely kind and generous man and was considered by his family to be a "Jack of all Trades". He had the ability and knowledge to take on any task and handle with ease; from fixing or building just about anything, to gardening and cooking/grilling. Gerald was a dedicated and loving husband, father, Pop-Pop, son and brother. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Della (Halupka) Benner and his adoring children: Jessica Palminteri and her husband Matt of Monroe,GA, Marlana Benner of Duryea,PA, Jeri-Lynn and Steve Young of Dingmans Ferry, PA, Tamara
Benner of Dingmans Ferry, PA, and Gerald Benner of Dingmans Ferry, PA. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Abram James, Thomas John and Ella Mae Palminteri, Jayden Wyatt and Savannah Lynn Young, and Warren David Benner, his sister Susan Thomas, and nephew Stanley Thomas, both of Orlando, FL.
Private family funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.
Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc. 225 McAlpine St. Duryea, PA.
