Gerald Reedy, 82, of Duryea, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Wilkes Barre General Hospital. He was born in Pittston on May 9, 1943, and was the son of the late Edward and Leneita (Winters) Reedy.
Gerald was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church in Duryea. He graduated from Pittston High School in 1961 and went on to work at San- Ron Sportswear, Scranton. He later retired as a corrections officer in 2000 from SCI Waymart State Correctional Institution.

An avid outdoorsman, Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at his cabin in Choconut, PA. He especially cherished the time he spent with his family and his beloved grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Elwood Reedy, and his sister Carol Cavalari Yohn.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pauline (Bartush) Reedy; his son, Christopher, and his wife, Crista, of Exeter; and his grandchildren, Jayden and Morgan Reedy. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Reedy, and his wife Carol, of Exeter, along with many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 10:00am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea, with Fr. Michael Bryant officiating.
Friends may call for visitation on Tuesday evening, June 10, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church on Wednesday morning as there will be no procession from the funeral home. Interment will be held at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca.

Dear Pauline, Christopher,Christa and family, We were so sorry to here of Gerry’s passing.Our sincerest condolences to you all. It’s been many years since we met at scouting when our son Jim and Christopher were in scouts together. We have many wonderful memories of those times which we especially treasure today. Jim was in Airforce Intelligence for 23 years and did get his bachelors degree in computer science while in the service. He lives in Colorado with his wife, Deanna and family and works for the space force in intelligence as a civilian at this time.God bless you and watch over you during this time and always.
