Greta Vinskofski

Greta Vinskofski, 52, of Scranton, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at home after a 3-year battle with colon cancer. Her daughter Madison and cousin Katie were by her side. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Frank A. Gruden and late Catherine Valezano Gruden.

Greta was a 1988 graduate of Scranton Central High School. She was employed by the City of Scranton’s Personnel Office and later Zoning Department for 10 years. After her resignation from the City, Greta was employed as a paraprofessional for 15 years with the Scranton School District and at Home Goods, Dickson City as a customer service coordinator for the last 5 years.


Greta was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.


Surviving are her daughter, Madison, Media, PA; her brother Frank Gruden (Tracey) and their children, Gavin, Cameron, and Benjamin, Plains, PA; Andrew Gruden, FL; aunts, Mary Ann Kitlas (Ronald), Scranton, PA, Marian Benarick (late Eugene), Quakertown, PA; uncle, William J. Valezano (Linda), Crestwood, IL; former husband, Robert J. Vinskofski, Jr., Scranton, PA; many cousins, friends and extended family all of whom are grieving this great loss of a beautiful life.


Greta was also preceded in death by her Maternal

uncle Anthony T. Valezano.


Friends and family may visit before mass, Saturday morning, December 3, 2022, in St. Paul’s Church, 1510 Penn Ave., Scranton, PA from 9:30am to 10:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow Saturday, at 10:30 am. Interment following at Italian American Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Minooka section of Scranton.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to her daughter Madison Vinskofski.


Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
