Helen Joyce (Iyoob) Hahn

Helen Joyce (Iyoob) Hahn, 89, of Moosic, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.  She was born in Jermyn August 23, 1936, and was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude (Morgan) Iyoob.


Helen was a member of Queen of The Apostles Parish Church in Avoca and a graduate of the Mayfield High School, class of 1954.  Following high school, she worked for the WCDL Radio Station before joining the US Naval Reserve WAVES, where she served during the Korean War Era. Helen later retired as a seamstress from Leslie Fay, in Wilkes-Barre.


In her younger years, Helen enjoyed playing softball and was an avid roller skater. In later years, she found joy in crocheting, spending time in her yard caring to her plants, and participating as a member of the Mineralogical Society of Northeastern Pennsylvania.  Above all, Helen cherished time spent with her beloved family.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.


In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband Thomas W. Hahn, who passed away July 18, 2018, as well as her siblings, Janice Munley, Shirley Morcom, William Iyoob, and John Iyoob.


She is survived by her children:  Sharon Brodt, of Pittston; Thomas Hahn Jr. and his wife Joyce, of Avoca; Timothy Hahn and his wife Lori, of Pittston; Susan and her husband, Mike Kunda, of Pottstown. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tiffany and companion Angela, Courtney, Lauren and her husband Josh, Timothy and his husband Anthony, Evan and his wife Taylor; and her great grandchildren, Julian, Brynn, and Jenna Cambell, and Asher and Mila Hahn.


Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 10:00am at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Friends may call for visitation on Tuesday evening, February 10, from 5-7pm. Interment will be held at the Jermyn Cemetery located at 114 Cemetery St., Jermyn.  AMVETS Honor Guard of Greater Pittston will provide Military Honors.
