Helen (Liberasky) Knick

Helen (Liberasky) Knick, 83, of Dupont passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 12, 2021, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Dupont on May 26, 1938 and was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Loss) Liberasky.

Helen was a graduate of Moosic High School and Scranton Lackawanna Business College. She also attended Dupont Schools. She was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. for a brief time. She also worked for the local garment industry.


Helen was a lifetime member of Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Catholic Church anda past president of the Dupont Little League Auxiliary. She loved to play cards and make pierogies and spend time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Stanley Knick, Sr., who died May 24, 2012, as well as her sisters, Jean Kopcza and Rose Petrosky.


Surviving are her son Stanley, Jr. and his wife Maureen, with whom she resided in Dupont; daughters

Cindy Ehrgood and husband Brian of Hamlin, Susan (Knick) Gregory, of Dupont, Judith Remak and husband Darren, of Thornhurst and Bruce Knick. Sr., of Dupont. Also surviving is her sister Barbara Nowicki and her husband Bishop Bernard Nowicki PNCC; her grandchildren Thomas, Stacy, Carrissa, Bryson, Stanley III, Kenneth, Bruce, Jr. and George and many great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.


A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 9:30am at Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Catholic Church, 212 Wyoming Ave., Dupont with Fr. Zbigniew Dawid officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Thursday evening, July 15, 2021, from 6-8pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church for the mass; there will be no procession from the funeral home.
