Henry D. Ritzie, Jr., 81, of Dupont, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 at his home. He was born in Dupont on June 20, 1939 and was the son of the late Henry D. Ritzie Sr. and Clara (Novak) Ritzie.
Henry was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. He was a graduate of St. John The Evangelist High School, Pittston and a graduate of the University of Scranton. Henry worked as a teacher in Hillsborough, NJ and then moved back to NEPA and was employed with the Prudential Insurance Co. Henry retired from the Pittston Area School District with many years of employment as an elementary school teacher. He enjoyed the game of golf, taking trips to the casino, traveling, and most of all spending time with his family and his dogs. Henry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Henry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Marie
(Dudzik) Ritzie; his daughters Christine Ann Ritzie, of Virginia Beach, VA and Pamela Ozark and her husband John, of Dupont, his step-grandchildren Aaron and John Ozark and his furry companion Molly.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. If attending the mass kindly use your discretion. Masks are mandatory in the Church. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery.
