Herbert T. Lewis, 74, of Warrior Run, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He was born in Yatesville on May 30, 1950, and was the son of the late Herbert W. and Joan VanLuvender Lewis.
Herbert was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, class of 1968. Upon graduating high school, he joined the US Army Reserve. Herbert retired from Mecadon Oil after 30 years of employment.
Herbert was a family man and a hard worker, raising his 6 kids and then another son at the age of 47. He loved to go fishing on his bass boat and watch NASCAR racing and NFL football games on Sundays. He had an array of animals from dogs, birds, a pet crow, and even spiders. Herb loved nothing more than to have a few Budweisers and be around his family enjoying themselves. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Alison Lewis, sons Jude Concha and Kris (Hank) Concha, and his sister Joany Lewis Gunning.
He is survived by his sons, Herbie Lewis II, Caleb Harmon Lewis, Carlos Concha and Eric Concha. Also surviving are his grandson Alexander G. Lewis, his sisters, Jane Gubbiotti and Elaine Lewis, his brother Wayne Lewis and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 18th at 6:30pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Rev. Michael Shambora officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Thursday evening from 5pm until time of service.
