James M. Tubridy, Jr.

James M. Tubridy, Jr., 63, of Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at his home. He was born in Wilkes-Barre August 11, 1958 and was the son of Philomena (Baldoni) Tubridy and the late James M. Tubridy.

James was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. He was a 1976 graduate of Wyoming Area High School. Jim was the owner and operator of James M. Tubridy Electric for 25 years and was currently employed at Kings College as a master electrician.


James lived an active and vibrant life. He was an avid hockey player and enjoyed the outdoors and travel. He loved being with family and friends and will be missed deeply by them.

Those who knew James experienced his thoughtfulness, kindness, and his giving nature. His genuine humility was hallmark to who he was and was felt by all.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in law Irene and Vincent Orloski and brother-in-law Paul Sovinsky.


He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rita Orloski Tubridy, his daughter Amanda Katechis and her husband Thomas, of Ridgefield, CT, his son Alex Tubridy and his wife Sabrina of New Fairfield, CT., grandchildren; Charlie and Henry Katechis and Benjamin Gouveia. Also surviving are his brother Michael Tubridy, of Duryea, sister-in-law Geraldine Sovinsky, of Dupont, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Ann and Ronald Rinaldi, of Dupont, his faithful companion his dog Tuck and many nieces and nephews.


A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Luzerne County SPCA, 524 E. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.


Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
