John Langhorne, Jr., 84, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at his home. He was born in Duryea, February 15, 1939, and was the son of the late John and Margaret Mallon Langhorne.
John was a graduate of Duryea High School. He joined the US Army and served during the Korean War and also served with the Army National Guard. He worked as a truck driver for most of his life. He was employed for many years for DeFazio Trucking Company and retired after many years of employment for Allen Seascholtz Trucking Company.
John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother James Langhorne.
John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Beverly Popish Langhorne; his children, Beverly Blasko and her husband Mark, Brenda Franzo, and John Langhorne III, all of Hughestown. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Nichole and Brian Blasko, Robert Jason Franzo, Nadine Babra, and David Thomas Langhorne; great grandchildren, Summer Lynn Babra and Steven Babra; his sister Margaret Seldon and her husband George of Duryea; and many nieces and nephews.
A blessing service will be held on Friday, May 19th at 11:00am at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St. with Chaplain Gerlin Valencia officiating. Friends and family may call on Friday morning from 10am until time of service.
