Joseph W. Gordon, 82, of Hughestown, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Pittston, September 20, 1939, he was the son of the late William and Maude Durling Gordon.
Joseph attended Hughestown Public School, and retired from Topps Chewing Gum, Duryea with over 35 years of employment.
In addition to his parents, Joseph is preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl Gordon and his son Gary Gordon.
He is survived by his children, Joseph Gordon, Jr. of Duryea, Crystal Gordon, and her husband Jeremy Dean, of Forty Fort, and Cherie Gordon and her husband Armando Lopez, of Duryea; his grandchildren: Jeremy Dean, Jr., Jocelyn Dean, Mercedez Lopez, Ismael Lopez, Olivia Gordon, Mia Lopez, and Aybel Dean; his brother James Gordon and his wife Maryann, of Wyoming; his sister Maryann Papiercavich and her husband Ronald of Hughestown; and many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday,
September 22, 2022, at 10am at Corpus Christi Parish Church, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston with Monsignor John J. Sempa officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday evening, September 21st from 6pm to 8pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church on Thursday for the mass.
