Katherine (Cremard) McDermott

Katherine (Cremard) McDermott, 73, of Duryea, passed away on June 8, 2025, at the Highland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Exeter.  Born in Duryea, April 22, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Catherine (Kalinauskas) Cremard.


Katherine was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, Duryea.  She graduated from Pittston Area High School, class of 1970 and went on to earn an associate degree in accounting from Luzerne County Community College


A gifted artist, Katherine had a passion for arts and crafts, especially the art of crochet.  She generously shared her talents by teaching crochet classes for many years at the Pittston Library.  She found great joy spending time with her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert G. McDermott who recently passed away on May, 8th 2025.


She is survived by her son Robert and wife, Kim Talarico McDermott and her daughter, Ann Marie McDermott Kondrad. Katherine was blessed with 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild, Marissa McDermott, Gianna McDermott, Kaitlyn Kondrad, Christopher Kondrad, and Maya Fedor. Katherine is also survived by her sister Ann Marie Estock and her husband Chuck, of Wilkes-Barre; her brother Louis Cremard and his wife Mary Ann of Duryea; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.


A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 12 at 2:00pm at Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea with Fr. Michael Bryant officiating.  Friends may call for visitation on Thursday afternoon from 1:00pm until time of the mass.  Interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Duryea.


Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
