Lottie L. Kosik

Lottie L. Kosik, 91, a lifelong resident of Dupont, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Dupont on December 28, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna Gemzik Grabowski.

Lottie was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. She was a talented seamstress, working in several local dress factories.


A devoted mother and grandmother, she was a fantastic cook, who carried on the traditional Polish and Slovak holiday meals and customs. Lottie loved reading books and working crossword puzzles and taught all of her children and grandchildren how to play card games. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Kosik, who died April 11, 2019; her sisters Irene Satkowski, Bernadine Loughney, Florence McCague, and Ann Dolan; and brothers Henry, John, Chester, and Edward Grabowski.


Lottie is survived by her children Elizabeth Kosik, Paul Kosik, Jr., Mary Kay McMahon and husband Joseph, and Carol Clausen (late husband Paul). Also surviving are her grandchildren, Joseph and Michael

McMahon, Rachel, Matthew, and Caroline Clausen.


A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 30th at 9:30am at St. John The Evangelist Parish Church, William St., Pittston. Interment will be held at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Pittston Care and Concern Clinic, 35 William St., Pittston, PA 18640.


Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
