Louis M. Jakubczyk

Louis M. Jakubczyk, 73, of Plains, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. He was born in Swoyersville, June 25, 1948, and was the son of the late Louis and Sophie (Antos) Jakubczyk.

Louis was a member of St. Peter and Paul Parish Parish, Plains. He was a graduate of Swoyersville High School, Class of 1966. Louis then joined the US Army Reserve and served with Troop C., 9th Cavalry of Wilkes-Barre from 1967-1973. Louis worked as a swimming pool installer for Prestige Pool and retired from Olympic Pools, Exeter with over 30 years of employment.


Louis enjoyed spending time with his loving wife of 45 years, Marion Dudek Jakubczyk. They enjoyed going out for dinner, coffee, and rides with his wife and enjoyed camping with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.


In addition to his parents, Louis is preceded in death by his wife Marion, who died January 3, 2022, his brother Raymond, sister-in-law Kathleen Jakubczyk, and his brother–in–law John P. Dudek.


He is survived by his brother Richard Jakubczyk, of Swoyersville, his sister-in-law Diane and her husband Tommy Molitoris, of Duryea, sister-in-law Theresa Dudek and many nieces and nephews.


A private mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter and Paul Parish Church, 13 Hudson Rd, Plains with Fr. John C. Lambert officiating. Interment will be held at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca.
