Lynn Payne Hamilton

Lynn Payne Hamilton, 69, of Moosic, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Scranton on May 29, 1951 and was the daughter of the late William and Adele Gedratis Payne.

Lynn was a member of Queen of The Apostles Parish Church, Avoca. She was a graduate of Scranton Tech High School. She was employed for many years at Topps Chewing Gum, Duryea and retired in 2014 after 30 years of employment from Chamberlain Manufacturing, Scranton. Lynn was one of the first women employed at Chamberlain and was a proud member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.


In her free time, Lynn enjoyed working and selling arts and crafts. She had a small business called Aunt Lynn’s Arts and Crafts and would sell and compete in many arts and crafts venues locally. She also worked many fall seasons for Whites Farm, Clarks Summit.


Lynn was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Robert J. Payne.


She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Thomas Hamilton; her siblings Judy Bennett, Kristeen Smith, Jack Payne and his wife Debbie, and William Payne, Jr. and his wife Jeanie; and several nieces and nephews.


A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 30 at 11:00am at Queen of The Apostles Parish Church, Avoca. Friends may call for a walk thru visitation on Saturday morning from 10am until time of mass. Interment will take place at a later date. Please be mindful that protective masks and safe social distancing are mandatory at all times.
