Margaret A. Lasota, of Duryea, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center, Scranton. She was born in Duryea and was the daughter of the late Barney and Anna Thomashunas Mahalsky.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lasota, who died October 7, 2000, her brother Walter Mahalsky, and her sister Carol Ciaston.
She is survived by her sisters Florence Balchune, of Duryea, Viola Shaw, of Dallas; her brother Barney Mahalsky, of Exeter; and several nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Dupont.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family of Margaret Lasota.
