Marie Elizabeth Vander

Marie Elizabeth Vander, loving Aunt, passed away at the age of 96 on Wednesday, August 25th. Born in Pittston on April 27, 1925, to Susan (Schneck) and Martin Pramick, she was a resident of Exeter until her early 20’s.

Always adventuresome, she then moved to Manhattan for 30+ years. She was employed by Gruskin & Feldman furriers as Executive Secretary/financial officer/ model! Her position granted her frequent opportunities to travel to Europe where she developed a love of skiing, which she then taught to family members. She was also fond of the beach, so embarking on yet another adventure, at retirement she purchased a beach home on Long Beach Island, NJ, which she, and many family members enjoyed for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi parish in Long Beach Twp for many years, and prior to that she was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church in Pittston.

Marie had a passionate love for her family. She was a fabulous, “classy” loving aunt and although we are immensely heartbroken by her passing, we thank God for her kind, compassionate and very supportive presence in our lives.

She is predeceased by her parents, husband Martin, and sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Adam White and her nephew Joseph White Jr. Marie is survived by nephew Joseph White (Debra) and niece Ann Moore (David), great nieces/nephews, Kimberleigh Burke, Jenn White, Adam Moore, Michael Moore and Christina Moore.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday September 1st at 11:00am at Corpus Christi Parish Church, 605 Luzerne Ave. West Pittston with Monsignor John J. Sempa officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Wednesday morning September 1st from 10am until time of mass. Interment will be held at St. John The Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.

Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
