Marion Jakubczyk, 76, of Plains passed away on January 3, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Avoca, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Lottie (Mazur) Dudek of Avoca.
Marion was a member of St. Peter and Paul Parish Church, Plains. She graduated from Duryea High School and Empire Beauty School and obtained her manager’s license.
Marion enjoyed spending time with her loving husband of 45 years, Louis Jakubczyk. She enjoyed going out for dinner, coffee and rides with her husband and her sister and enjoyed camping with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother John Dudek, who died April 1st, 2021.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister Diane and husband Thomas Molitoris, of Duryea, a sister-in-law Theresa Dudek of Exeter and brother-in-law Richard Jakubczyk of Swoyersville. Also surviving are nephews John and Tamara Dudek and Kevin and Kelly Dudek of Suscon and nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 10:00am at St. Peter and Paul Parish Church, 13 Hudson Rd., Plains with Fr. John C. Lambert officiating. Interment will be held at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca.
