Mark “Scooby” Geffers, 66, of Moosic, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Allied Hospice Center, Scranton. Born in Rutherford, NJ on May 5, 1954, he was the son of the late Rodney Geffers and Avis (Hudlett) Fecanin.
Mark was a graduate of Rutherford High School. He joined the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. For most of his life, he was a self-employed truck driver; traveling throughout the United States. Mark retired from MTR Trucking, Bloomsburg.
Mark was a member of the Avoca VFW Post 8335 and the West Side Social Club, Avoca. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mark is survived by his life companion, Kathy (Valenta) Geffers; his son Jason and his wife Melissa Geffers, of Pottstown; daughters, Melissa Geffers and fiancé Ralph Tomasetti, of Lake Ariel and Ashley Geffers of Carbondale; grandchildren, Robert, Alex, Giana, Daniel and Lila; and his two step-grandsons Christopher and Peter Tomasetti.
A blessing service will on Wednesday, February 24, at 5:00pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Fr. Phillip Sladicka of Queen of The Apostles Parish Church, Avoca
officiating.
Friends may call for a walk-thru visitation from 5:30pm -7pm. If attending the service or visitation please be mindful that masks and safe social distancing are mandatory per CDC regulations.
I miss you terribly. I love you so much, Dad. Thank you for being a great grandpa, Alex and Giana will always remember all the great memories you had together. They love you so much. Give grandma a big hug up there. I will always be your ‘Sweet Melissa’.
