Martin Francis Fuller, 71, of East Boston passed away due to natural causes on November 8th, 2023.
Martin was born on November 29th, 1951 in Pittston, PA and grew up in nearby Avoca. He went to Kings County College in New York City, NY and obtained a degree in nursing before moving to Massachusetts, where he had six children. Martin later attended the Harvard Extension School in Cambridge, MA, where he graduated with honors and obtained a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree with a concentration in mathematics.
Martin worked as a registered nurse, carpenter, high school teacher, and in medical administration before his retirement. Martin was an avid teacher, musician, astronomer, sailor, and audiophile who had a passion for knowledge and learning. He was also a skilled craftsman and outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed spending time in the mountains of Pennsylvania, especially with his children.
Martin was the proud father of six children whom he loved above all else. He is survived by his six children and three grandchildren, Martin Fuller, 33, Maura Grey, 31, Dorothy Sullivan, 29 and her three children, Erin Fuller, 27, Margaret Fuller, 25, and Christopher Fuller, 23. Martin was the son of the late Eugene J. Fuller and Marie H. Callahan Fuller. Martin was the beloved brother of Marie Fuller, Gene Fuller, John Fuller, Joe Fuller, Eric Fuller, Helena Fuller, and Joyce Fuller.
The family will host a private celebration of life for his upcoming birthday at the end of this month.
A mass of Christian burial for Martin will take place on Saturday April 6, 2024 at 10:00am at Queen of the Apostles parish Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca. Friends may call for visitation on Saturday from 9am until time of mass. Martin will then be laid to rest in Saint Mary’s cemetery next to his sister Helena, mother Marie, and father Eugene.
