Martin “Marty” Piechota, 80, of Dupont, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at his home. Born in Dupont, March 24, 1940, he was the son of the late Martin and Mary (Derwingo) Piechota. He was married to the late Christine (Magdalinski) Piechota.
Martin attended Dupont High School. He was in the Army Reserve for six years and later worked for Chamberlain in Scranton and retired from Techneglas due to its closing.
Marty was very generous and would never hesitate to help someone in need. He was highly intelligent and loved to read. He had a love for analyzing data and would enlighten all with his interesting research. He had some of his research featured in respected scientific journals. Marty enjoyed hikes in the woods, listening to his blue grass music and watching movies. He will be missed by all.
Marty is survived by his daughter, Beverly Elliott;
granddaughters Jenna Stetz and Megan Nystrom; great granddaughters Emmi and Evie Stetz all from Florida; brother John Piechota (Cathy) from Dupont; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be privately held.
