Mary Ann Delaney

Mary Ann Delaney, 88, of Pittston, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. She was born in Taylor and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Zengyn Rindosh.

Mary Ann was a member of Our Lady of The Eucharist Parish Church, Pittston. She was a graduate of Taylor High School, class of 1950. Mary Ann was a very talented seamstress and worked for many years in the local garment industry. She also worked as a cook for the East Mountain Child Care Center, and retired in 1999.


Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, and Nana and she will always be remembered for her goodhearted nature. She loved attending Christian prayer meetings and conferences with her daughter and friends.


Mary Ann’s family would like to gratefully acknowledge the love and caring of Tony Acernese, who faithfully visited her daily, which was the happiest part of her day and to David Rossi who baked Mary Ann all her favorite treats. The family would also like to recognize the outstanding care she received from Drs. Charles Manganiello and Guy Fasciana as well as Compassionate Care Hospice

(Olyphant) team members Jennifer M., RN, Nancy, Jackie, Cassie and Chris G, without whose help home care of Mary Ann would not have been possible.


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Delaney, Sr., who died July 8, 1997, her siblings; Joseph, Edmund, and Charles Rindosh, Cecilia Drechin, Dolores McIntyre and infant siblings Edward and Florian Rindosh.


She is survived by her daughter, Donna Delaney, with whom she resided, her son Paul J. Delaney jr., of Pittston, grandchild Chris (Joe), of Avoca, her sister Blanche Grassl (Hans), of Milford, NJ and several nieces and nephews.


A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 11:00am at Our Lady of The Eucharist Parish Church, 535 North Main St., Pittston with Fr. Paul McDonnell officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday evening, August 16 from 6pm-8pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea and Wednesday morning, August 17th from 10:00am until time of mass. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Avoca.
