Mary Ann Papiercavich, 75, of Hughestown passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Pittston February 15, 1948, and was the daughter of the late William and Maude (Durling) Gordon.
Mary Ann was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Dupont. She attended Hughestown High School. She worked for the Consolidated Cigar Factory, West Pittston and was also employed for many years at Owens Illinois/ TechneGlas and retired in 2002 from Sathers Candy Factory, Moosic.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mary will be remembered for her big personality and generous nature. She could fill a room with laughter and conversation. A mom that would do anything for her kids and a caring wife of 51 years, Mary will be greatly missed by family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Joseph W. Gordon.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ronald Papiercavich, Sr.; her sons, Ronald Papiercavich, Jr. and his fiancé Emi Saito, of Waverly Twp. and Eric Papiercavich and his fiancé Nichole Wesley, of Avoca. Also surviving are her grandsons, Troy and Cullen Papiercavich; her brother James Gordon and his wife Maryann of Wyoming; and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 10am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 217 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Thursday evening, June 1st from 6pm-8pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St,. Duryea. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery.
