Mary Louise McGurrin, the loving wife of the late Anthony M. McGurrin, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday morning, Jan 29, 2021, at the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville, MD, where she has lived over the past 12 years.
Mary Louise was born in Avoca, PA, where she spent her childhood and young adult years. She graduated from Avoca High School and Lock Haven College, PA.
She was employed with the U.S. Attorney's Office, Middle District of Pennsylvania in Scranton, PA, and later with the Federal Bureau of Investigation at the Baltimore Field office. She was a long-time member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Woodlawn MD, where she was a member of the choir. She had a lifelong love of music, literature, and poetry.
She is survived by her children; Anthony, Jr., and his wife Wyn, James and wife Louise, Mary Frances Coughlin and husband Joseph, Mark and wife Carol, Keith and wife Patty, Virginia, and husband Rick, and her two grandchildren Maria and Robert. The family also includes many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday June 5, 2021, at 11:00 am at Queen of The Apostles Parish Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call for visitation from
10:00 am until time of mass. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Avoca.
