Michael Vincent Earlley, 82, of Pittston, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 1st, 2025, after a long illness. He was born in Pittston on April 2nd, 1942, and was the son of the late Leo and Nellie (Galenis) Earlley.
Michael was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, class of 1961. After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps. Upon his return from service, he worked briefly for Main Pants. In 1967, he began his long career with Topps Chewing Gum in Duryea, retiring in 2012.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother Butch Earlley and his beloved dog “Wobby”.
Michael is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bertha (Miller) Earlley; his children, Michele Simko, of Pittston, Michael Earlley and his wife Kimberly, of Pittston and Colleen Drager and her husband Stacey, of Pittston Twp. Also surviving are his 8 grandchildren, Jimi Simko and his wife Crystal, Bastian Simko, Sela Simko, Tyler Drager and his wife Donna Jo, Kayli and her husband Jason Vietz, Jordyn Drager, and Sara and Lauren Earlley, as well as three great grandchildren and his niece Kelly Beth who was a devoted caretaker to Michael over the past year.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of The Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Dr, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
Funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
