Nancy Joan Hamilton, 78, of Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home on April 8, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 11, 1946, Nancy was the cherished daughter of the late William and Nancy Kennedy.

Nancy was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She had a special passion for sharing stories and laughter with her great-grandchildren, creating cherished memories. Max will always remember the late night stories she would tell. Jaelynn will never forget looking up coins with her to figure out if they were special. Anastasia will miss watching Hawaii Five-O with her but will continue to think of her as she watches. Craig will miss their long conversations while driving her to her appointments; she always teased that he was driving Miss Daisy. We were all blessed to have four generations under one roof where we could all see each other every day. We are extremely sad and are feeling the heaviness of the loss.

Known for her wonderful sense of humor, Nancy always knew how to make those around her smile and laugh. She loved when Chris would make her spaghetti and Brian would bring her a newspaper from places he traveled; she loved reading the paper. We could often hear her singing songs with her great-grandchildren like “Tiny Bubbles” and “Good morning to you.” All of the adults could sing along because she sang those songs to us when we were kids, too. She found immense happiness at the beach, her favorite place, and had a fondness for pink flamingos. We imagine her with her toes in the sand drinking a rum and Coke listening to Jimmy Buffet with her best friend Lynn. She loved the slot machines in the casino almost as much as the beach, often giving Brittany money to sit and play the slots she picked, in an effort to get to stay longer. Elecia will always remember the crazy road trips especially the one where she spilled a milkshake in the back seat of the car without AC on the way to Vegas. That car never smelled right again. Nan also leaves behind her beloved canine companions, WaWa and Storm, who were a constant source of comfort.

Nancy is survived by her loving children, Christine Hamilton-Davis and her husband Brian Davis, and Scott Hamilton and his wife Heather Hamilton. She was a proud grandmother to Brittany Lyman, Craig Lyman, Elecia Caraballo, Hattie Hamilton, and Paxton Hamilton. Her legacy also lives on through her great-grandchildren, Max Johnson, Anastasia Lyman, and Jaelynn Lyman. Nancy will be deeply missed by her sisters, Mary Ruth Stocking and Linda Greenwood, along with many other relatives and friends.

A small graveside service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 2pm at St. Mary's Cemetery in Avoca, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of cards and flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to assist with funeral expenses. Please reach out to Christine.
