Patrick J. “Fella” McNally, Sr.

Patrick J. “Fella” McNally, Sr., 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday December 13, 2025.  He was born in Scranton on March 18, 1940, and was the son of the late James and Helen (Farrell) McNally.

Patrick attended schools in the Scranton School District and dedicated his working life to the culinary profession. A talented and hardworking chef, he was employed for many years at Eagen’s Restaurant in Scranton, Tallo’s Restaurant in Dunmore and later worked alongside his family at their family-owned restaurant, PJ’s Restaurant in West Side, Scranton.


Affectionately known as “Fella,” Patrick cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.


In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Janet “The General” (McCormick) McNally; his daughters, Lisa and Patricia McNally; his brothers, Gerard, Joseph, Jimmy and Mike McNally; and his sisters Helen DePrimo, Ann Molanaro, and Mary Beaty.


He is survived by his son, Patrick “Rick” McNally, and his wife Lori, of Taylor; grandchildren, Kristine and her husband Earl Paone, Ashlyn, Connor, and Ryan McNally; his great granddaughter, Liliana Paone; and his great great grandson Saint Terrell.  He is also survived is his sister, Geraldine Smerecky of Taylor along with several nieces and nephews.


The McNally family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. John Diakiw and the nurses and staff for their excellent care, compassion, and kindness shown to Patrick throughout the years.


Funeral services will be privately held. Arrangements have been made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
