Patrick “Pat” McDermott, 60, lost his battle with cancer on July 18th, 2023 while in the care of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Born on November 15th, 1962, and raised in Avoca Borough, Pat was the youngest of five sons of the late John and Patrick (Meehan) McDermott.
He was a 1980 graduate of Pittston Area School District. Prior to his illness, Pat was employed by J&J Snack Foods. Pat was a lifelong Minnesota Vikings and LSU football fan and never missed watching their games.
In addition to Pat’s parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John.
Pat is survived by his brothers, Fran (Scranton), Tom (Dupont), Jim (Avoca) and sisters-in-law Teri, Lynn, Diane, and Mary, as well as nieces and nephews.
Following Pat’s wishes, all services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
