Peter J. Kolankoski

Peter J. Kolankoski, 73, of North Scranton, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, after a brief illness. His wife of 33 years is the former Patricia Ruthkosky.

Born in the South Side section of Scranton, he was the son of the late Stanley and Josephine Kolankoski. He was a 1970 graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Prior to retirement, he owned Keystone Food Equipment.

Peter had a wonderful sense of humor and a positive attitude. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He especially adored his two granddaughters, Sarah and Emily. He loved spending time with his family and his “fur babies,” Bella and Bailee.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his granddaughters, Sarah Kolankoski Clark and Emily Kolankoski Clark; his son-in-law, Kevin George, who has been a blessing and a Godsend to the family; and extended family members of the Ruthkosky and Lance families (in-laws) and their families, whom he always thought of as his own.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carrie Ann Kolankoski.

A celebration of Peter’s life will be held at a later date.
