Peter Perry Murphy

Peter Perry Murphy, 67, of Montreal, Canada and formerly from Inkerman, PA, passed away on August 20, 2025.  Born in Brooklyn, NY, on July 2, 1958, he was the son of the late Francis and Veronica (Dymowski) Murphy.

Peter was a 1977 graduate of Pittston Area High School.  He went on to become the co-owner of a successful New England piano rebuilding and restoration company.

A gifted musician, Peter loved playing the piano and sharing his passion for music. He was also an avid traveler who enjoyed fishing, camping, and partying with friends and family.  He was always the entertainer and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Murphy.

He is survived by his partner and dear friend and caregiver Dustin Neufeld; his sisters, Elizabeth Karpavich, and husband Anthony, and Mary Berlinski and husband Joseph; his brothers Jeff, Mark, Eugene, and Michael; as well as his nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 6:30pm. at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 4:00pm until time of service.
