Peter S. Ryczak

Peter S. Ryczak, 82, of Palm Coast, Florida and Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, Palm Coast, FL. He was born in Avoca, September 11, 1937 and was the son of the late Walter and Julia Bednarski Ryczak.

Peter was a member of St. Gregory Parish Church, Clarks Green, PA. He was a 1955 graduate of Duryea High School. He served in the United States Navy. He worked at Hartford National Bank, remaining there through several mergers for 33 years and retiring from Fleet Bank in 1997. He joined the Knights of Columbus, Council 3884, in 1966 in Newington, CT, where he became a Grand Knight and Past Faithful Navigator.

He enjoyed playing baseball, watching the New York Yankees, the New England Patriots, and UConn Girls Basketball Team. After retiring and spending time in Florida, he became an avid tennis player. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and taking cruises.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Maryann Ryczak, brothers-in-law Thomas Rasimas, James Kaufman and Jean-Marie Olier.

Peter leaves behind his lifelong companion and wife of 59 years Francoise (Chedemaille) Ryczak. Also survived by his brother Robert and wife Cheryl Ryczak,

sister Judy Rasimas and two sister-in-law Simone Kaufman and Paulette Chedemaille, several nephews and nieces in the USA and France.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11:00am at St. Gregory Parish, 330 N. Abington Rd., Clarks Green, PA with Fr. John M Lapera officiating. Friends may call on Friday morning from 10:30am until time of mass. If attending the visitation or the mass kindly use your discretion. Masks are mandatory in the church.

Interment will be held at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca. AMVETS Honor Guard of Greater Pittston will provide military honors. Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
