Ramona Saporito

Ramona Saporito, 93, of Pittston, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, at the Highland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Exeter. She was born in Pittston, December 21, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace Belgio Saporito.

Ramona was a member of Queen of The Apostles Parish Church, Avoca. She was a graduate of Pittston City High School, and retired from the local garment industry as a seamstress.


In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Carmella Hoffman and her brother Ignatius “Iggy” Saporito.


She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ellen Saporito, of Moosic, and her nephews; Joseph Hoffman and wife Rosemary, of West Wyoming, Joseph Saporito and spouse Michael Gelbert, of Brooklyn, NY, John Saporito and wife Margie Tighe Saporito, of Shrewsbury, MA, Michael Saporito and wife Caroline, of Pittston Twp., Thomas Saporito and wife Jennie Musto Saporito, of Jenkins Twp., and Brian Saporito, of Philadelphia.


A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 10:00am at Queen of The Apostles Parish Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca with Fr. Phillip Sladicka officiating. Friends may call for visitation at the church from 9am until time of mass. Interment will take place at St. Rocco’s Cemetery, Pittston.
