Robert Barlow, 75, formerly of Avoca, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. He was born in Taylor, February 26, 1945 and was the son of the late Warren and Dorothy (Imes) Barlow.
Robert was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, West Pittston. He was a 1962 graduate of Avoca High School. After high school, he attended Lackawanna Junior College and then enlisted in the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War from 1967-1971. He was a member of the American Legion, West Pittston. Robert and his late wife Sharon were foster parents to over 37 children throughout their lives. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Sharon Cary Barlow, who died on November 20, 2011.
Robert is survived by his daughters Kara Barlow, of Pittston and Kristen Park and her husband Matthew of Herndon, VA. Also surviving is granddaughter Hayley Park and grandson Nathan Park, his brother Warren Barlow of Taylor and many nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the Langcliffe Cemetery, Avoca with military honors provided by the AMVETS Honor Guard of Greater Pittston.
