Ronald J. Bartuska, 81, of Pittston, passed away on Wednesday June 23, 2021, at the Wilkes-Barre VA Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Duryea September 27, 1939 he was the son of the late John and Bernice Chronowski Bartuska.
Ronald was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, Duryea. He attended Duryea Schools, joined the US Army in 1955, and served during the Vietnam War, until his discharge in 1966. He served as a heavy equipment operator, instructor, and attended engineering school while he was enlisted in the Army. Upon his discharge from the US Army, he worked at the TP Corp, Duryea, Topps Chewing Gum, Duryea and retired from the Popple Coal Company, where he was employed as a welder after many years of employment.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Josephine Klemmert Bartuska, his son Andrew Bartuska, granddaughter Amanda Bartuska
and his sister Sonja Widdick.
Ronald is survived by his sons; Ronald, Jr. and his wife Barbara Wolzak Bartuska, of Virginia, and William Bartuska of Pittston, his brother David and his wife Dorothy Bartuska, of Duryea and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021, at 9:30am from Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial at 10:00am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, Stephenson St. Duryea with Fr. John Polednak officiating. Friends may call on Sunday evening, June 27, from 6pm-8pm. Interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Duryea. AMVETS Honor Guard Of Greater Pittston will provide Military Honors.
