Ronald W. Pokorney, 63, of Old Forge, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.  Born in Taylor on June 6, 1961, he was the son of Patricia (Zabroski) Pokorney and the late Ronald F. Pokorney.

Ronald was a proud graduate of Old Forge High School, class of 1979.  He served his country honorably in the US Air Force from 1979 to 1983.  Ronald moved to Arizona, where he pursued a career in electronics. Eventually, he returned to Pennsylvania, where he launched his own electronics installation business.  Later, he dedicated 12 years to the Tobyhanna Army Depot. While there, he voluntarily deployed to Iraq to work with electronic equipment supporting our troops.

A passionate outdoorsman, Ron had a deep love for hunting and fishing.  He was also a talented musician and bass player performing with several bands both locally and in Arizona.  Above all, he cherished time with his family, especially with his nephews and his great niece and great nephew.

In addition to his mother Patricia, Ronald is survived by his sister Jackie DiGregorio and husband Mark, of Duryea; and his brother Richard Pokorney of Spring Brook Township. Also surviving are his nephews, Richard Pokorney, Jr. and Dante DiGregorio.  He is also survived by his great niece, Vivienne DiGregorio, and great nephew Dante DiGregorio, Jr. as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10:00am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea with Fr. Michael Bryant officiating.  Friends may call for visitation on Saturday morning from 9:00am until time of mass.  AMVETS Honor Guard of Greater Pittston will provide military honors.
