Rose Marie Borgna

Rose Marie Borgna, 83, of Moosic, entered eternal rest on Monday, July 19, 2021, at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on March 8, 1938, in Jermyn, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Yarosh) Yaworoski. Rose was a graduate of Jermyn High School and a proud Jermyn Centennial "Belle" in 1970.

Rose began working in the local garment industry at a young age and was employed by the Mayfield Dress Company. She worked various service industry jobs before retiring from her role as a mail processor at the U.S. Postal Service. She will be remembered for her love of travel, polka dancing, small games of chance, and the casino and for being a great friend to many.


Surviving is her daughter, Michele McGowan, and husband, Leo of Moosic; her grandchildren Bridget, Chicago, IL; Megan, Harrisburg, PA; Aidan, Moosic; and her grand-dog, Loki. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her long-time companion, Leo E. Vough, her husband Frank Borgna, and her sister Margaret Matoushek.


The family would like to thank the staff of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their compassionate care for Rose.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 10:30am from Kiesinger Funeral Services,

Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with a mass of Christian burial held at 11:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont with Fr. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Friday morning, July 23, from 9:00am until time of service. Interment will be privately held on Saturday, July 24th at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp.
